This is to advise that Governor Larry Hogan ordered the Maryland Flag lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset, Friday, September 30, 2022. This is the day of interment for former State Senator David Harrington, who passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022. Former State Senator Harrington represented Legislative District 47.

As a mark of respect for the memory of Queen Elizabeth II, President Joseph R. Biden ordered the United States Flag to be flown at half-staff effective immediately and returned to full-staff at sunset on the day of interment (not yet known). Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom died today, September 8, 2022.

In honor of Patriot Day, Sept. 11, the United States flag is to be lowered from sunrise through sunset on Sunday, Sept. 11. For state government buildings and other entities that are closed on weekends, it is permissible to lower the flag at 5 p.m. the preceding Friday and raise it the following Monday morning.

This is to pay respect to former Secretary of State Madeleine Korbel Albright and her life of service to our Nation. Former Secretary of State Albright passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
