Flag Status Alert: United States Flag and Maryland Flag are at Half-Staff for three reasons.
This is to advise that President Joseph R. Biden ordered the United States Flag be lowered to half-staff effective immediately and returned to full-staff at sunset, Sunday, March 27, 2022. This is to pay respect to former Secretary of State Madeleine Korbel Albright and her life of service to our Nation. Former Secretary of State Albright passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. This is to advise that Governor Larry Hogan ordered the Maryland State Flag be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset, Saturday, March 26, 2022. This is the day of interment for former Lieutenant Governor Samuel Bogley, who passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Samuel Bogley was Maryland’s Lieutenant Governor from 1979-1983. Both the United States Flag and Maryland Flag will continue to fly at half-staff until sunset on Sunday, March 27, 2022, per the Presidential Proclamation in honor of former Secretary of State Madeleine Korbel Albright.
