Old Documents

My next project is to go through all of the non-newsletters documents that we found 2 years ago, scan them, and once I have a good idea of how to organize them, post them here on this website.

Some of these documents date back to the 1950’s, such as our zoning permission grant from Baltimore County for the establishment of our prior post home as a “private club”. Also included are the agreements between Post 116 and the Maryland 2nd Artillery for the use of the cannon and other miscellaneous historically interesting documents.

Everlasting

Happy Friday all y’all! Recently I’ve been working on memorial pages on this website for those members who have transferred to Post Everlasting, Squadron Everlasting, Unit Everlasting, or Ride Everlasting. I finished and published them last night. They can be found under the appropriate program’s menu. Thanks go out to Faith Insley and other Auxiliary members for providing pictures and other info for Unit Everlasting. If you’re online and looking at those pages, check them out, and contact me with any additions/changes that should be made on those pages. You can contact us by using the “Contact Us” feature on this website.

Thanks!

Calendar Updates

I’ve started to work on expanding the calendar to include:

  1. Management Items (only visible to logged-in users)
  2. Lounge Staff Schedule (only visible to logged-in users)
  3. Lounge Hours

Post (and Post Program) Officers, Committee Members, and Lounge Staff will be given logins to the website so they are able to view the management items. As these logins are created, those folks will receive emails with login instructions.

Love Tech, Hate Tech

Friday, 7/23: Ok. I love technology. I hate technology. Sometime early today — — our website provider updated the software that ran our website; for you techies, it was Drupal. Well, it didn’t go so well. It totally broke all the styling and much of the custom functionality I had added to the website recently. Even better, I found out that Drupal 8 versions will no longer be supported in about 3 months! So, I am going to take this frustrating opportunity to switch to a different platform…right now. I truly appreciate the compliments I have received recently on the new website, and I hope that this version will be even better AND last a whole damn lot longer than the last one. — JPR3, Post Adjutant.
